The Halo World Championship 2025 delivered us the official announcement of Halo: Campaign Evolved coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 in 2026. This is the first Halo title to grace the PlayStation platform.
The new Halo title is a remaster of Halo: Combat Evolved in Unreal Engine 5 with enhanced 4K visuals, brand-new story content, and iconic weapons & vehicles from the first game. Here's everything you need to know about Halo: Campaign Evolved.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is Preserving the Halo Spirit
Halo: Campaign Evolved is officially the second remake of Halo: Combat Evolved. The original Halo: Combat Evolved is a stalwart of gaming history, a cultural icon that helped define the first-person shooter experience.
The remastered title is coming in 2026 to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and PlayStation 5. It will also be featured on Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere and arrive day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a modern rendition of that iconic story, masterfully brought to life in Unreal Engine 5 with stunning new 4K visuals, updated animations, remastered music, and re-recorded voice lines.
Additionally, Halo Studios is bringing in a selection of weapons and vehicles from later Halo titles and adding three new bonus campaign missions, all designed to expand and celebrate the adventures of Master Chief.
There is more good news for the long-standing fans of the series; Halo: Campaign Evolved will feature the original two-player local split-screen experience on console, and, for the first time, up to four players in online co-op across Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will take players back to where it all started with enhanced visuals and brand-new story content. The official release date for the game might be revealed around the series' upcoming 25th anniversary.
