The official name for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 has been announced by the game’s official X account: it will be called Wrecked. Usually, players see a shift in the meta with each new season, but this time, it's different.
Everyone is seeing an abundance of supercharged cars everywhere, the ability to quickly burst into any box, and less emphasis on guns. This sets the stage for a drastically altered game in the Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 tournaments.
All Tournaments in Fortnite, Chapter 5, Season 3
The new tournaments this season provide a great spread of different events. We’ve got the final major for the 2024 FNCS as a start. That’s the biggest event. However, Epic Games will be hosting quite a few different tournaments. Here are the main events:
- FNCS Major 3
- Cash Cups: Individual events with cash prizes
- Duos Console Cash Cups: Console-only tournaments
- Open Cups: Tournaments without a rank requirement
- PlayStation Cups: PlayStation-exclusive cups
- Ranked Cups: Unique for each rank
- Victory Cash Cups: Events with cash for Victory Royales
Unfortunately, Fortnite Mix-Up Mondays didn't make the cut this time around. However, there are new events like Open Cups, making for a pretty packed calendar. Plus, there are more chances to vie for cash prizes compared to previous Fortnite seasons, so the prize pools have been amplified as well.
At the start, it looks like cars are going to play a big role in all the tournaments. Although they don't have mods anymore, features like boss cars having regenerating health could still make them important.
On another note, we've got multiple methods for tearing down builds now. There's the new gauntlets and even Nitro, which lets you smash your way through. Both of these could shake up the gameplay quite a bit.
These tournaments are shaping up to be really intriguing. We'll have to wait until they kick off to see just how this major shift in Fortnite is altering the game. We might be in for tournaments that feel totally different from what we're used to.
