Grand Theft Auto VI will reportedly reward players with bitcoin-like cryptocurrency instead of cash for completing missions. Apparently, these payments will come from the game's big bosses that need to transfer untraceable cash.
Industry insider Tom Henderson has shared some interesting new details regarding Rockstar's next big game - Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI). According to some of the information that the insider recevied, GTA VI could have some kind of cryptocurrency in the game, which would be a reward for players instead of cash.
Henderson explains that bitcoin-like cryptocurrency is mostly used by the game's major characters or "higher ups" how he calls them in the tweets which you can check out below.
"I heard recently that in GTA 6, some missions will reward you in bitcoin instead of cash for completing. The stock market feature will return, with the addition of a broker for different cryptocurrencies," he tweeted.
"These payments will come from the more higher up characters that needs to transfer high amounts of untraceable cash and fast."
Henderson also added that the currency would not be called bitcoin and that it's only a currency in-game, meaning that you won't be able to use it in the real world, if that wasn't already obvious.
As always with unconfirmed reports, a dose of skepticism is required. These are just rumours after all and Rockstar did not even announced Grand Theft Auto VI, though, it is believed that the game is in development and could be coming sometime in 2024/2025.
