One might think that Red Dead Redemption 2 had all the necessary publicity in the world due to all the hype, but Rockstar Games seem to disagree. Another batch of exclusive promo items for the game seems to be on their way to GTA Online.
Rockstar Games seem to be ready to reveal another exclusive Red Dead Redemption 2 item via Grand Theft Auto Online. The first one may have faded from some fans' memory by now since it became available in late 2017, but it is still obtainable through a treasure hunt.
Now a new item approaches, which is not quite as fancy as the golden revolver was and is geared towards the fans of native Americans in Wild West scenarios. Data mining of After Hours update revealed a stone hatchet for Red Dead Redemption 2 that should be made available soon via another event in GTA Online.
It seems as if Rockstar's gearing up for round two. Although not officially announced yet, savvy players have sifted through the files for the recent "After Hours" update to find that there's another Red Dead crossover happening soon enough. This time, it's for a stone hatchet.
Several players have manage to force necessary values in game files in order to make the treasure appear, after which they decided to hunt it down. First step was to read a text message from Maude Eccles who will eventually offer several bounties to players to complete. Once they turn five of them in, players will be awarded a set of coordinates to lead them to a derelict bus which contains the treasure crate.
Hatchet is in crate, and while "stone hatchet" doesn't sound particularly pretty, the item actually looks sweet thanks to all the adornments and colourful rope holding it together. You can see the crate opening and the item at 46:25 in the embedded video above.
While it doesn't sound too difficult to pull off, it will only unlock the item in GTA Online. In order to get it for Red Dead Redemption 2, players will have to get 25 kills with the hatchet on anything around them. It also offers a unique ability, named Rampage, which makes players take no damage once they score a kill streak.
From there on, players will need to connect their Rockstar Social Club account accordingly and Morgan should have the hatchet at his side once Red Dead Redemption 2 launches. Bear in mind that the event hasn't started yet though, and the video above serves as a sort of proof of concept.
