It's official - Mediatonic, the team behind the 2020's smash-hit Fall Guys, announced that they're the latest studio to join the growing Epic Games family.
Mediatonic will be joining studios like Psyonix and Chair Entertainment under Epic's banner, and it's certainly a good banner to be under at the moment.
Writing on their blog, the team called it a massive win for the game and Mediatonic, reiterating their commitment to Fall Guys and the community.
"This is a huge win for Fall Guys. Since Fall Guys broke out in August, we’ve put everything we have into the game, and the Fall Guys team has already grown massively from 35 to 150+. Yet, there is so much more we want to build for our players", they wrote.
They also reminded that their deal with Epic means Fall Guys will reach as many players as possible, in addition to supporting the current community.
Mediatonic preemptively answered some questions on their blog and you can count on Fall Guys being playable on whatever platform you bought it on. This suggests we may see the game pulled from Steam, or at least the developer is anticipating such a scenario.
Fall Guys gameplay remains unaffected, but Mediatonic are quite interested in certain features found on Fortnite. "Fortnite and Rocket League already have tons of features we’d love to bring to Fall Guys—account systems, cross-play, squad vs squad modes, etc…We’re going to work hard on bringing more of these features to Fall Guys too", they said
Fall Guys developer pointed out they're interested in bringing the game over to Nintendo Switch and Xbox as well, so don't be surprised if such plans are announced soon.
