Extraction shooter is a genre of shooter games that focuses on completing specific objectives, looting, and fighting other players during the process. The main goal of extraction shooters is to navigate through a highly dangerous area while completing objectives and extracting out of there alive.
Escape from Tarkov is a different gravy when compared to all hardcore shooters on the market. Developed by Battlestate Games, it's easily the most difficult and engaging extraction shooter out there. Up until now, the game was only available through Battlestate's official launcher.
However, recently Battlestate Games has unveiled their plans of officially releasing Escape From Tarkov on PC through their launcher and Steam. The official release build, Escape From Tarkov 1.0, will be available on Steam, and here's everything to know about it.
Everything To Know About Escape From Tarkov 1.0 on Steam
It's been years since Escape From Tarkov was officially released in beta on the Battlestate launcher. Since then the game has received countless updates to reach its current state as one of the best extraction shooters out there.
Now fast forward to 2025, after 8 years of beta testing, Escape From Tarkov 1.0 brings the game's official release on the Battlestate launcher and Steam. The game is slated to arrive on Steam and the original game launcher on November 15, 2025.
