A lot of tiny improvements are coming to Tarkov. Here is the overview of the upcoming updates.
Just an hour ago, Nikita and the Battlestate Games hosted a short podcast with the latest updates coming to Escape from Tarkov.
Even though it was a lot shorter than their usual podcasts which sometimes last up to 3 hours, a lot of things were shown and talked about, so let's start.
The Arena is coming by the end of the year
The standalone deathmatch mode is coming this year. They are targeting the fourth quarter for the release, but have left an option for release early next year if some problems do occur in the meantime.
Nikita confirmed that they finally settled on the designs and are working on a demo-prototype version before the big release at the end of the year.
Lighthouse expansion
During the podcast, they showed a video with a couple of images from the expanded Lighthouse map. Check out the gallery below.
There was a talk about the Lighthouse in-game trader as well. Access to him will be limited, and Nikita said that some difficult tasks/requirements will need to be met before contact with Trader is possible.
He will most likely be inside the Lighthouse itself, guarded by new bosses that Battlestate Games will introduce soon.
The expansion is not coming that soon as some work, mostly regarding the Trader, is still to be done, but the second part of the Lighthouse is on a good track and could be playable by the end of the year.
Craft instruments and repair kits
There will be a major change with items needed for crafting in the hideout.
Stuff like screwdrivers, power drills, and other utility tools will no longer be one-time items but will return to the player's stash once the Hideout upgrade has finished. These instrument items will be marked so you'll know which items are one-time used or more.
The spawn rate for these items will be significantly lower, so their price and availability will change massively with the next update.
The players will no longer have to repair weapons with Traders with the introduction of personal repair kits.
These personal repair kits will be available for all repairable gear, but the first two that are coming soon are weapons and ammo repair kits. Both will have different variants, that will be buffed differently, just like any other gear in Tarkov.
New weapons
A new revolver, the Chiappa Rhino 50DS revolver, will be added to the game soon, with more revolvers announced, with one being 1x1 in stash size which could make it a good weapon for quick loot sessions.
The flare gun is the second weapon to be added. Flare guns will have different kinds of rounds with different options in the future, but for now, players will be able to call in an airdrop with them.
Calling airdrops will be limited per map, but how exactly is still unknown.
Nikita also mentioned that they're constantly working on improving anti-cheat, as well as on graphical overhaul, and adding new weapons and gear,
They have not made any announcements regarding the war in Ukraine and their stance. The podcast was brief, and Nikita promised to host another longer podcast in the future where they will be answering fans' questions.
