Ben Walke, EA's community manager, has been teasing Star Wars Battlefront 2 roadmap for a while now and finally shown it in the end. The picture details EA DICE's plans for the game in the remainder of 2018, including new heroes and maps.

According to the roadmap Walke on his Twitter, a new game mode should be coming in July 2018, named Hero Starfighters. This mode will focus on 4v4 PvP battles, or rather dogfights as players will be duking it out in hero ships. There are also quality of life improvements planned for the month of July, such as turning lightsabers on or off at the press of a button, stamina draining while blocking with lightsabers, appearance swapping before round start and unspecified hero showdown quality of life improvements.

August seems rather uneventful, as only two additions were listed for this month - clone trooper appearances and emotes as well as victory poses that will be unlockable with either credits or crystals. Well, an uneventful month is not even the disappointment's final form.

Fall, or autumn, of 2018 represented the hope of many Battlefront 2 fans that still stuck with the game, as they expected new maps and heroes during the season. There are two heroes coming indeed, but no new maps. The new heroes are General Grievous and Obi-Wan Kenobi, as well as a new large-scale game mode, squad system and more appearances.

Here is the kicker, Geonosis location is scheduled for winter, along with Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker. Therefore, players will have to wait another six to eight months in order to get a new map and most of them are already fed up. Fans have immediately expressed their disappointment in EA DICE due to slow pace no one thought was possible.

One person in particular that this is a triple A game that should have the resources to deliver regular updates within a reasonable time frame, but this is not the case. It does make one wonder whether the developers are just taking their sweet time or they simply abandoned the game, pulled its resources for other projects and players are barely getting the scraps through these updates.
