Techland have finally rolled out the promised dev update for Dying Light 2, although they seem to have been more concerned with dramatising fan reactions than talking about the game.
You're probably aware of all the drama surrounding The Dying Light 2, although it remains to be seen how much of it was overblown by journo reports, or a result of a poor translation, the latter being pointed out by Techland themselves.
Anyway, the first part of the dev update was for some reason highlighting fan reactions, and we're probably talking about the most hard-core Dying Light 2 fans.
We're not exactly sure that this is what fans actually wanted to see, but there it is. If this is Techland's way to tell the fans to chill out a bit, then it's fine, but we'd all rather see more of Dying Light 2 to be perfectly frank.
Dying Light 2's gameplay preview was unfortunately reduced to several seconds, although we must admit they're truly gorgeous several seconds.
As we've come to expect from the franchise, parkour is still there and arguably more glorious than ever. We know Techland picked specific shots, but we're certain that parkour will be even better than in Dying Light. Not to mention prettier.
Dying Light 2's preview threw in some combat into the short running time, as well as a few notable characters, whom we can't wait to meet in person.
Again, unfortunately, the promised Q&A was skipped in favour of scheduled AMA sessions, for which fans can leave questions on the game's Discord. On a somewhat brighter side, though, Techland promised that they'll be ready to start talking about Dying Light 2 "very, very soon", so here's to that.
