Diablo Immortal is not too far away now and as more tests are coming in, the developers are gearing up for a release.
Diablo Immortal may not be popular among the series' long time fans but given the size of the mobile gaming demographic, it's safe to assume that there are numerous players looking forward to the release of the action RPG on their platform.
To that end, here are a few important dates and time windows for the game.
Diablo 2 Alpha
Technical Alpha started in December 2020 and you're probably too late for this one.
Closed Alpha testing will start on May 20, 2021, for Japan and Korea, in limited numbers. Australia should get access to it around the same time. As the test goes on, more people will be allowed in.
Diablo 2 Beta
Currently, there is no ETA on this one but it's only logical it will happen at some point after Closed Alpha concludes.
Diablo 2 full release
Blizzard didn't provide an exact release date but they did say Diablo Immortal is "on track for global release later this year". Considering this info is coming from Activision Blizzard's First Quarter 2021 Results presentation, it could mean that the term "this year" would mean until February 4, 2022.
It is at this point that their first quarter of 2022 will begin, not by the calendar year, so it could be wise to keep your expectation in check so you don't get disappointed if Diablo Immortal doesn't release within 2021.
