Dex is a cyberpunk infused, 2D side-scrolling action-RPG that is coming to Nintendo Switch. The game will have some metroidvania elements and cater to four different playstyles.

Originally developed by Dreadlocks Ltd, Dex is a cyberpunk infused, 2D side-scrolling action-RPG on its way to Nintendo Switch on July 24.

The players will assume the role of Dex, a mysterious blue-haired girl on a mission to take down the powerful and mysterious organization that rules Harbour Prime. The journey will be helped along by the various augmentations the players will be able to obtain.

Dex will feature multiple endings and a broad spectrum of upgrades and skills to custom fit four distinct playstyles:

  • Silent assassin
  • Gunfighter
  • Diplomat
  • Hacker

You'll also be able to mix up all the above playstyles as you see fit.

The city of Harbour Prime offers several new paths like the classic Metroidvania titles, which the players will have to open up.

The game's story is set in a cyberpunk-inspired open world and told in a non-linear fashion. Various customization options round out the RPG aspect of the game as you can choose your equipment, skills and even cybernetic implant skills to open up new paths in the city.

The game's hacking mechanic lets you dive into Cyberspace which offers a top-down view and some additional gameplay options.

Dex will be available for 19.99 USD on launch. Pre-orders* for the game are now available through the Nintendo eShop where all owners of any Qubic Games title will receive a 25 per cent owners discount.
