Death Stranding dominates The Game Awards 2019 with ten nominations

Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding is dominating The Game Awards 2019 with ten nominations. The action-adventure title is nominated for the Game of the Year while Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen also picked up nominations for best performance.

Leading this year's nominees is Kojima Production's "strand" title Death Stranding. The game managed to pick up 10 nominations including the biggest one - game of the year. Death Stranding is also nominated in best game direction category while Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen also received nominations for best performance.

Other games leading the field include Remedy and 505 Games' Control, which racked up eight nominations, including the game of the year and best direction, as well as a performance nomination for Courtney Hope.

Souls-like RPG Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is following behind with six nominations including the game of the year, audio design and art direction.

The Game Awards 2019 show will take place on 12 December 2019.
