Former Bend Studio Design Director Jeff Ross has joined Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics, though, it's unclear which project he will be working on.
Days Gone Design Director Jeff Ross, who left Bend Studio back in 2020 has announced that he joined Crystal Dynamics, the developer of the Tomb Raider series, Marvel's Avengers and the upcoming Xbox exclusive Perfect Dark.
Ross announced the news via his Twitter profile, saying he now works at Crystal Dynamics as Design Director. Sadly he did not share additional details so we don't know much about the project he will be taking on at the California-based studio.
"I'm excited to announce I now work at the amazing Crystal Dynamics as Design Director. That's all I can say other than I'm thrilled with the project, and especially the team of really wonderful people," Ross tweeted.
Ross' tweet came shortly after a brand new Tomb Raider game announcement. Crystal Dynamics confirmed at the State of Unreal event that a new Lara Croft adventure is in the works using Unreal Engine 5 .
It's entirely possible that this is the project Ross will be working on but that is yet to be confirmed. He could also be working on Perfect Dark but until we get confirmation from him or Crystal Dynamics, this is just speculation.
Ross left Bend Studio after spending 14 years there in different positions, to join WB Studio NetherRealm where he worked as a Design Manager.
Recently, Ross spoke about how Sony would not greenlight Days Gone 2 due to poor Metacritic score, pitching a Syphon Filter reboot instead. However, Bend never had an idea for such a title and suggested an open-world Resistance instead but nothing came up from that, sadly.
