CD Projekt Red are rolling out gameplay footage of Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles and following the recent Xbox reveal, it is time for Sony's platform to showcase its potential.

Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay footage was recorded on PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 5, as per CDPR's statement. Similarly to the Xbox One X / Xbox Series X gameplay, the footage alternated between the current and next-gen platforms.

In the sections shown in the footage, PS4 Pro seemed to be fully capable of running the game but it may be worth noting that it didn't show action-packed scenes like the hallway shootout in the Xbox video. It may be nothing but the lack of explosion showcase on PS4 footage got us thinking.

Then again, we did see a decent amount of open-world gameplay with PS4 Pro and it didn't show any hiccups. You will be able to see that shadows aren't exactly sharp in some portions of the video, such as the one on 1:22 time stamp when V is looking at his hand.

However, if you get the game on any version of PS4, Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on PS5 so if you want to experience the game in the full next-gen glory, you will be able to do so at no extra charge. This is due to both backwards compatibility and the free next-gen upgrade that is coming in 2021.

While PS4 Pro looked like it handled CP2077 well, keep in mind that it is without a doubt more powerful than the base PlayStation 4. If you are planning to play the game on this platform, the video above may not end up representative of your experience.
