Cyberpunk 2077 will have a huge day one patch according to Redditor delps1001, who got his copy today. Over on Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit, delps1001 posted photos of his Collector's Edition as proof, claiming that he is currently installing the game's day one patch, which is 56.3 GB.
When asked whether he can play the game and if the unpatched version has any major bugs, Redditor replied: "The day 1 patch is available! Is 56GB".
However, keep in mind that this may not be the day one patch, after all. It's possible that the installation is simply downloading off the disc, which is the standard installation procedure on PlayStation 4. Until CD Projekt Red officially confirm the file size for day one patch, take this with a dose of scepticism.
Still, the Redditor claims this is indeed the day one patch and if he's right, then that's massive file size. Many assumed that Cyberpunk 2077 will come with huge day one patch but 56 GB is the size of a full AAA game and we cannot wait to see the length of the full patch notes.
CD Projekt Red should talk more about the day one patch in the upcoming days. Influencers and media who got to play the game a couple of weeks ago claimed that they've noticed a lot of bugs and glitches in the game, and early gameplay leaks also revealed that there are many, many issues that need fixing.
Hopefully, CD Projekt Red will manage to fix most of these problems before the official launch.
