CD Projekt Red recently confirmed that three teams are working on separate Cyberpunk 2077 projects. Some are speculating these are standalone games while others believe it's the expansions that are along the lines of those in Witcher 3.
CD Projekt Red recently have extremely high hopes for Cyberpunk 2077 and that is no longer just a matter of opinion. They proved this in a story relayed by the Polish website by confirming that there is the main working on Cyberpunk 2077 and two additional teams working on projects related to the game.
Fans will probably be most hyped about the multiplayer version of Cyberpunk 2077 but it's currently unknown whether it will be a smaller standalone game or a full-blown co-operative mode for the big one. This content is in development by the studio in Wroclaw which has about 40 people.
The third team's workings are still a secret but there is a possibility CD Projekt Red already started work on one of the future expansions for Cyberpunk 2077. They have already noted that the scale of these expansions will be like the ones in The Witcher 3.
Speaking of comparisons to the adventures of everyone's favourite monster hunter with a high libido, Cyberpunk 2077 pre-orders are already much stronger than those of The Witcher 3 but CD Projekt Red are staying down to Earth with it.
They reported that The Witcher 3 was not as hyped up as Cyberpunk 2077 at the same time relative to the release date which may be the driving factor for the strong pre-sales.
We have a feeling that those pre-orders will become even stronger at the start of 2020 when the marketing campaign is set to really ramp up. This will be the first time anyone outside CD Projekt Red will get to play Cyberpunk 2077 with some of the marketing material reserved for journalists.

CD Projekt Red folks predict that the overall physical sales will be lower than those of The Witcher 3 but this is not exactly news since everyone is shifting toward the digital copies. Similarly, the developers predict that consoles will have a bigger share compared to The Witcher 3.
