Gears of War creator and former Design Director at Epic Games Cliff Bleszinski has an idea for a new game. Bleszinski wrote on his Twitter that it would be a small project and most likely done remotely. Also, it won't be a battle royale.
Cliff Bleszinski revealed via his Twitter that he has an idea for a brand new game, despite claiming earlier this year that he's done with the video games industry and that he'll never make another video game.
"Guys I kinda have a game idea and it won't get out of my head. I thought I was truly done. But then, stupid brain shows up," CliffyB wrote on Twitter. He then clarified his comment saying that it definitely won't be a battle royale game.
Furthermore, Bleszinski said that he has some ideas "gestating" but if he goes ahead with it and starts development, it would be an indie game - "small and most likely done remotely".
This means that Bleszinskin's new game would be totally different from some of his earlier projects such as Gears of War series and failed arena shooter Lawbreakers - both of which had large budgets, publishers and development teams.
At the moment, Bleszinski is in the deal-making process for his memoir, which is about what happens behind the scenes in the professional gaming industry. He said that the process of finding a publisher "has been kinda painful" but fortunately for him, he is close to signing the deal with a major publisher.
Also, after the closure of Boss Key studio, Bleszinski has gotten involved with theatre production. He co-produced Hadestown and plans to be similarly involved with a revival of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see what type of game Bleszinski has in mind. We doubt it will be similar to his previous work but since CliffyB changes his mind a lot these days, it wouldn't be surprising if we got another shooter.
