Kotaku's Jason Schrier, who is a reliable source in the gaming industry claims that the chances of E3 2020 happening seem pretty low at the moment due to coronavirus outbreak.

Earlier this month a rumour appeared on ResetEra , suggesting that a new Harry Potter game could be announced by WB Games pretty soon. Many immediately assumed that a new Batman game will not be coming anytime soon if WB Games plan to reveal the mentioned Harry Potter game.

However, a reliable source in the gaming industry and news editor over at Kotaku, Jason Schreier joined the discussion by suggesting that WB Games may announce two games at E3 2020. "If only there were a venue in which multiple games could be announced at the same time", Schreier commented.

In the same thread , players have once again started the discussion whether these games will indeed get an official reveal at E3 2020 and Schrier has once again replied, but this time with some bad news. He claims that things change quickly thanks to coronavirus outbreak and that E3 2020 may not happen at all.

"Well, what was true a couple of weeks ago may no longer be true thanks to the virus. The chances of E3 happening seem pretty low," Schreier wrote.

On top of this, he added that if E3 2020 gets delayed or cancelled, developers and publishers may even give up on their own press conference during the E3 week and opt for a different date instead.

"If E3 doesn't happen, there's not much of a reason for every single company to hold their press conference on the same week, It's very possible that publishers decide to plan their own events on their own schedules instead," Schreier concluded.

Of course, you should take this with a grain of salt, just like any other rumour or unconfirmed info. That being said, it comes from a reliable source and since some events already got delayed/cancelled due to virus, it would not surprise us if the world's biggest gaming expo also skips 2020.
