Burnout Paradise: Remastered has topped UK sales charts and thus managed to bring the crown back to the series after 13 long years. Criterion Games have decided to celebrate this feat by playing the game with the fans.

Burnout Revenge is the last Burnout game that has managed to reach the #1 spot on UK sales charts and that happened in 2005. Burnout games haven't managed to reach the top spot for over 13 years, and in the end Burnout: Paradise did it with a remaster. Let that sink in for a moment.

Well it's really not the doom of creativity and triumph of recycling old assets as it seems, but a slow week instead. The game had a big marketing campaign and it is making some sales but GTA 5 was #1 last week and its sales dropped by 44 per cent and it's #4 this week. A five year old game's 44 per cent drop in sales still granting it a #4 spot is an indicator of low sales.

At the moment of writing, the top 10 list looks like this:

#1 Burnout Paradise Remastered

#2 Kirby Star Allies

#3 FIFA 18

#4 Grand Theft Auto 5

#5 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

#6 Super Mario Odyssey

#7 PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

#8 EA Sports UFC 3

#9 Fallout 4

#10 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

It is noteworthy that while Burnout: Paradise Remastered is enjoying a successful week, Devil May Cry HD collection is struggling at #13 in its opening week.

This success prompted Criterion to celebrate with fans. They will be streaming gameplay with fans later today, both on PS4 and Xbox One. The stream was announced on official Criterion Games Twitter.

PC Master race haven't received the remaster yet but it is due later this year. Therefore, tonight's stream will be console only.
