We must admit that seeing two very familiar BioWare mugs smiling back at us after a lengthy absence from the scene is a great way to start the day but the company's co-founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka only came for the Order of Canada.

I know, they don't seem to be overly extatic to see us, which is quite understandable considering we're talking to a picture, belonging to BioWare's origins timeline no less. As you could've guessed though, we've got a few old sods here and their memory makes elephants jealous, so don't expect us to forget.

Jokes aside though, Zeschuk and Muzyka haven't really come back anywhere, nor did they leave Edmonton for that matter - they switched careers and seem to be quite content away from the spotlight. Nevertheless, their appearance is actually related to what we can now safely call their stint in gaming.

It turns out that the Canadian government decided to bestow the highest honours on Zeschuk and Muzyka, recognising their work as "revolutionary contributions to the videogame industry as a developer and co-founder of an internationally renowned studio."

The two now-former BioWare head honchos were given the prestigious accolade by the Right Honorable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada. In case you're not familiar with the Order of Canada, it has been established in 1967 as a fitting way to recognise outstanding individual achievements and contributions to society.

Both Muzyka and Zeschuk are of course delighted with the honours bestowed upon them, although they couldn't hide a bit of surprise there. Nevertheless, their home is still standing as one of the most reputable studios around, not to mention being the founding stone of the country's fledgeling gaming industry at the time.

Muzyka didn't miss an opportunity to give credit to their former colleagues at BioWare, claiming that they made "every day a joy just to come to work". That being said, they couldn't have left at a better time as we're fairly confident that they would find making games to not be as joyous as it may have once been, especially if you like hanging out on social networks.
