Revolution Software folks have released Beyond a Steel Sky on Steam, bringing players another way to experience a futuristic story in what they dubbed a 3D adventure thriller.
Beneath a Steel Sky is a cyberpunk point and click adventure from the last millennium, from the time when many today's gamers were not even born. It was 1994 when this title released and captivated the players who were lucky enough to enjoy it but also left them with a void that was not filled for another 26 years.
On July 16, 2020, Revolution Software released Beyond a Steel Sky which was warmly received although many didn't see it to be better or even as good as the first game.
That said, the bar was set pretty high with the original. The first time around, Robert Foster was brought to the Union City after a string of tragic events and later uncovered corruption seeded deep into the city. Beyond the Steel Sky's story is fairly similar as the player needs to uncover various conspiracies that are threatening the world as it is.
All of this is complemented by new graphics that are styled after comic books, with which it's closely related since Dave Gibbons is doing the artwork on top of having made an original motion-comic book for the title.
Beyond the Steel Sky is available on Steam at the price of $34.99 / €29.99 / £29.99 and has a 20 per cent discount for the opening week.
