Rage 2's official Twitter account posted a photo which features a Newer Dawn subtitle and two characters which stand in a similar manner to those from Far Cry New Dawn artwork. The photo also announced new gameplay footage reveal.

Bethesda have announced a brand new Rage 2 gameplay footage reveal for the upcoming week. But the announcement wasn't really ordinary as the developer also used it to make fun of Ubisoft and their upcoming shooter Far Cry New Dawn.

The official Rage 2 Twitter posted a photo that's clearly mocking Far Cry New Dawn. As you can see in the image above, it features a big Rage 2 logo with "Newer Dawn" subtitle along with two characters in similar poses to those of twins from Far Cry New Dawn cover art.

The photo description mentioned pink as a new Rage colour and asked the fans to get pumped for a gameplay reveal. "Huh, I guess pink is all the RAGE? Get pumped for new RAGE 2 gameplay coverage next week!" it's written in the tweet.

Far Cry's official Twitter responded to the photo by sharing New Dawn's story trailer and mocking back Bethesda for copying their artwork. "Glad you like our art! If you also need a new trailer, here’s a good one," Far Cry Twitter wrote. It's like a neverending circle of a "You did it first" argument.

Bethesda's people behind Rage 2 Twitter were having none of it and went even further by replying with a "Spider-man pointing at Spider-man" meme followed by "Oh sweet. The game looks great!" message.

Unfortunately, there wasn't anything else to suggest whether this was just a bit of friendly banter between the two companies, or Bethesda actually believe that Far Cry New Dawn is excessively similar to Rage 2.

Even though the similarities are probably just a coincidence, Bethesda's Rage 2 was revealed first back in May 2018, so it was Ubisoft who was late to the party with their idea of a colourful post-apocalypse.

Far Cry New Dawn was announced in December 2018, and it's scheduled for release on 15 February 2019 while Rage 2 is hitting the shelves on 14 May 2019.
