Battlerite has been praised by players for high octane gameplay, especially for a MOBA, and Stunlock Studios' intent seems to be transfering that into a battle royale game. Therefore, Battlerite Royale will be rather similar to its MOBA predecessor, with players already recognising several champions in the trailer.
According to the official description, players will indeed control champions from Battlerite and will need to loot items in standard battle royale fashion in order to gear up for upcoming fights. The ever tightening circle is called Death Vortex here and there is no battle bus or a plane to drop from. Instead, there is that white-blue wolf-snake thing you can see on the picture above.
Talon Island, the map where Battlerite Royale will unfold, is supposedly thirty times larger than a standard Battlerite arena, which is quite understandable since all kinds of loot and many more players will need to fit in. Controls are apparently unchanged, but champions have undergone some tuning in order to be optimised for battle royale.
Battlerite Royale will launch as a separate game on Steam Early Access during September 2018 and players can already sign up for beta testing.
Aside from League of Legends' Nexus Blitz mode which features some battle royale elements, this will be the only MOBA that has attempted something similar.
Considering League of Legends didn't go full battle royale, Battlerite will be the first MOBA to actually delve so deep into it. Many players have praised its fast paced combat system, but just as many have criticised it for a lack of depth, so this is likely the only correct course of action for Stunlock Studios.
