EA and DICE are going all out with Battlefield 6. After the shaky life cycle of Battlefield 2042, EA is returning to their roots with the new Battlefield title. In the past few months, Battlefield 6 has become the talk of the town with its impressive gameplay and breathtaking visuals.
Aside from the game's focus on multiplayer mode, EA has revamped the Portal Mode, which was introduced in Battlefield 2042. The new Portal Mode will allow players to create their own Battlefield experiences, which works in a similar manner to Fortnite's Creative mode. What is Portal Mode in Battlefield 6?
Battlefield Portal is a massive sandbox where creators and players can push Battlefield to the limit. Take unprecedented control of your environment by moving, scaling, and duplicating objects.
Create a completely unique game mode using NPC scripting and a customisable UI. Various legendary Battlefield experiences are waiting to be created with countless iconic in-game items at your disposal.
Everything New in Battlefield 6's Portal Mode
The unique experiences created through the Portal Mode are called “Community Experiences” – players can recreate classic game modes such as horde mode or create innovative experiences, like a top-down 2D shooter.
Portal Mode now includes Spatial Editing (map/geo editing), as well as AI scripting to customise the behaviour of AI combatants. The Portal Builder Tool also supports Custom UI scripting for building fully bespoke user interfaces.
With generous mutator and rule-set options, players can use the web creator Portal tool to experience Battlefield the way they want: Hardcore Mode, Closed Weapon Loadouts, the sky’s the limit.
Players earn full XP Progression when playing verified community experiences in Portal. These use existing Battlefield 6 mode templates such as Conquest, Rush, and Breakthrough, while allowing the creator to modify a wide range of mutators to make the experience uniquely theirs.
Additionally, players will have a wide array of options to filter the experiences they wish to see within the in-game server browser and experience library. Some select experiences can be featured directly on the home screen, making these experiences easier to find and join than ever. Included with the game purchase, players will also have the ability to make their hosted servers persistent, so they're always listed in the browser for easy access.
