EA and DICE have sent out playtest invites to a limited number of Battlefield veterans, according to several sources. The playtests kick off next week and will be under strict NDA.
A small number of Battlefield veterans will have a chance to play the upcoming Battlefield 2042, according to the leaked email invites that EA and DICE have sent out over the last 24 hours.
The technical playtest will span from August 12 to August 15, 2021, over six different sessions. The sessions will be three and nine hours long, which means that the technical playtest is only 24 hours of game time total, according to the Battlefield insider Tom Henderson , who got access to the email invite.
Interestingly, the playtest will not be public, meaning that everything is under a strict NDA. We won't be getting any recordings, screenshots, gameplay or streaming from those two who participate in the test.
Those who did not get an invite to this closed playtest will be happy to hear that EA and DICE will also host an open beta test in the month of September, though, full details have not been disclosed by the publisher just yet. We expect to hear more about the open beta later this month.
Battlefield 2042 is officially hitting the shelves on October 22, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
