With Little Nightmares 2 fast approaching, there's no better way to familiarise yourself with the franchise than with Bandai Namco's freebie - Little Nightmares.
That said, the freebie does require a few extra steps, which include registering on Bandai Namco's website before you're sent the digital key for Little Nightmares' Steam copy.
And given our experience in the past 20 minutes, we can tell you that opening an account on Bandai Namco's website definitely warrants a freebie or two. We're not sure whether this is due to great demand for Little Nightmares, or their hamster falling ill, but you're bound to have your patience tested.
Thankfully, the end result is well worth it, as Little Nightmares is one sweet puzzle-platformer, with elements of adventure and horror, each of which contributes to a wonderfully quirky world and an equally as wonderful protagonist.
Little Nightmares players will be playing as a little girl called Six, whose yellow raincoat is a welcome splash of colour in the otherwise drab setting of The Maw, a vast and mysterious vessel where corrupted souls continually look for their next fill.
In her attempts to escape the fate of becoming a dish, Six must navigate the scary world, and there's no shortage of downright creepy elements throughout. No worries though, as Six will also meet Nomes, cutesy huggable creatures, other children, and more.
"Immerse yourself in Little Nightmares, a dark whimsical tale that will confront you with your childhood fears! Help Six escape The Maw – a vast, mysterious vessel inhabited by corrupted souls looking for their next meal. As you progress on your journey, explore the most disturbing dollhouse offering a prison to escape from and a playground full of secrets to discover. Reconnect with your inner child to unleash your imagination and find the way out!"
Bandai Namco's offer lasts until January 17, 2021, and you can find it here .
