BAFTA Games Awards nominees have been revealed and PlayStation 4 exclusive God of War leads the list with ten nominations. Return of the Obra Dinn is up for six prizes just like Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 and mobile game Florence.
The British Academy Games Awards or BAFTA Games Awards 2019 nominees have been officially announced and just like with most of the awards in 2018, PlayStation 4 exclusive God of War is leading the list with an impressive ten nominations.
SIE Santa Monica's critically acclaimed action adventure is nominated for Best Game, Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, Game Design, Music, Narrative and Performer award for Christopher Judge as Kratos, Danielle Bisutti as Freya, Jeremy Davies as The Stranger and Sunny Suljic as Atreus.
Lucas Pope's Return of the Obra Dinn is closest to God of War with six nominations, including Best Game, and six is also the number of nominations for Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2 and mobile game Florence.
Matt Thorson's and Noel Berry's indie platformer Celeste is also nominated for Best Game along with four other nominations. Insomniac Games will hope that BAFTA Games Awards will be the place where Marvel's Spiderman will finally pick up some prizes. Spidey is nominated in three categories - Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement and Narrative.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is included in Best Game category once again and Melissanthi Mahut who voiced Kassandra of Sparta is nominated for the Best Performer.
The Evolving Game award will go to the best live service game and the nominees include Destiny 2: Forsaken, Elite Dangerous: Beyond, Fortnite, Overwatch, Sea of Thieves and Rainbow Six Siege.
