ARC Raiders players may not have long to wait for the next Expedition, with an in-game countdown hinting at a February 22 reset window.

Embark Studios has finally officially opened the Expedition Project window in ARC Raiders, meaning players can leave Speranza behind for the first time and complete their first full Expedition loop. It’s a significant milestone for most players as the Expedition system is the game’s take on a seasonal wipe, albeit a fairly different one from what’s seen in other extraction games.

ARC Raiders’ wipes are not mandatory, meaning that you can always choose to reset your progress, if you wish. Opening that choice up has also finally given players access to another thing they’ve been waiting to see: how long the next Expedition window is.

According to an in-game countdown spotted by the community, the second Expedition is currently expected to start from February 22 onwards, if Embark maintains the current schedule.

What happens when you complete an Expedition

Once the reset is triggered, players return to the beginning with no carried-over progression.

That reset includes:

Level returning to one
Empty stash and workbenches
No unlocked skills
Loss of previously collected resources

However, it’s not all loss. Completing an Expedition also comes with a few incentives designed to soften the blow and reward long-term commitment.

Players receive:

Temporary progression buffs
A small stash size boost
An exclusive cosmetic skin called Patchwork

Countdown points to February 22

The Expedition completers noticed a new timer appear immediately, hinting that the next reset window is already scheduled. The timing also fits with Embark’s described philosophy, each Expedition “season” being approximately two months in duration.

The timing has also been corroborated by some PC players, who have adjusted their computer’s date while in-game. By advancing the in-game calendar, they’ve reportedly seen future map conditions, trials, and Expedition-related content in advance.

Although it doesn’t affect anything server-side, this method has seemingly confirmed that the next Expedition window will open in late February.
