Aphelios and his massive arsenal of weapons proved to be quite tricky for Riot Games to balance out but League of Legends' latest marksman is getting nerfed again but the players will also get the opportunity to read his abilities easier.
Riot Games are going to kick Aphelios in the shins once again. His ultimate's range will be nerfed with patch 10.4 so he can't nuke the enemy team while standing safely behind his own meat shields.
Mark "Riot Scruffy" Yetter that the Lunari marksman is going to get trampled by another set of nerfs in the future but he did not specify what they might be other than Moonlight Vigil's range adjustment.
He did note that clarity is among the team's priorities now. Aphelios tends to confuse his enemies due to having an arsenal of five weapons that do not telegraph what they do with the ulti. Not enough at least.
Colour differentiation on Moonlight Vigil will be increased with patch 10.4 so the enemy team knows what they are being hit with. Therefore, if you are standing in a group of five and see a blue ulti coming your way, start flashing, stopwatching or praying. With the changes, it should be easier to differentiate it from Gravitum (purple), Crescendum (silver) and Calibrum (silvery green) versions.
Riot's balance team is also looking into displaying the threat of Aphelios' turret more obviously since the exact range indicator is apparently not enough. Scruffy didn't specify how the team will do this but the most immediate thought is adding an indicator to show which champion is being targeted by the turret.
There is still no talk about Senna nerfs, despite her being highly prioritised in pro play. Maybe it's Team Liquid's incredible success with the champion so far that we can thank for that.
