Aghanim's Labyrinth and Aghanim's Trials will offer Dota 2 players ways to earn more battle pass points and other rewards through playing a different game mode. Stepping away from the MOBA rules for a time, players will team up with three friends and enter the Labyrinth where they will embark on a roguelike journey.
Each player gets a set number of life and will respawn 10 seconds after dying but their teammates can't revive them. The labyrinth itself is not a single massive structure but rather a set of different rooms where the players will battle enemies and eventually the room's boss.
Enemies and breakable objects can drop items that will enhance the heroes, such as books of intelligence, strength or agility. These offer a +3 improvement for the associated stat and teammates will need to coordinate themselves in order to distribute the stats properly.
There are 12 participating heroes in total:
- Strength:
- Magnus
- Mars
- Omniknight
- Snapfire
- Tusk
- Agility:
- Sniper
- Ursa
- Viper
- Weaver
- Intelligence
- Disruptor
- Winter Wyvern
- Witch Doctor
Based on their performance in the labyrinth, the players will gain score and be eligible to participate in Aghanim's Trials, which will yield additional rewards, depending on the players' placement.
Battle pass owners stand to gain the most benefit as they can earn battle points from two main sources during the event:
- As drops from enemies and environmental objects
- From achievements gained by killing Aghanim in various difficulties
Labyrinth battle points are limited to 2,000 per week with the cap being raised to 3,000 after rank 150 and 4,000 after 250.
