Epic Games Store is actually giving out two free games as part of their regular weekly schedule, but if you hurry up you can make it three with A Total War Saga: Troy.
A Total War Saga: Troy
As per the deal between Epic and Sega/Creative Assembly, A Total War Saga: Troy is free for the first 24 hours after launch. The countdown has already begun, so you have less than a day to pick up the franchise's first foray into the Bronze Age.
A Total War Saga: Troy clearly focuses on the Trojan War, with the city and the surrounding countryside serving as a backdrop for the conflict between Achilles and Hector and their respective forces.
Troy should be a welcome refreshment for Total War fans - scarce cavalry and limitations of Bronze Age weaponry mean that the hammer & anvil strategy will take more strategising to pull off.
Remnant: From the Ashes
The first of Epic's standard weekly freebies is Remnant: From the Ashes, a third-person survival shooter by Gunfire Games and Perfect World Entertainment.
As the story goes, an ancient evil has thrown the world into chaos, leaving it up to you to fight back with up to two other players. The worlds in Remnant: From the Ashes are dynamically generated, which should make sure no level feels the same, and the usual cycle applies - kill, loot, repeat.
The Alto Collection
Epic's second weekly freebie is The Alto Collection, an endless runner that has players snowboarding through gorgeous, procedurally generated landscapes. We're talking about a bundle here, as the collection contains two games - Alto's Adventure and Alto's Odyssey.
You can pick up all three on the Epic Games Store .
