2XKO is Riot Game's highly anticipated fighting game formerly known as Project L. It promises to revolutionize the fighting game genre with its unique tag-based gameplay and innovative mechanics.
This 2v2 tag-based fighting game offers a fresh approach to the traditional team-based gameplay, drawing inspiration from Riot's other games like League of Legends and Legends of Runeterra.
However, unlike other games in its subgenre, 2XKO places a strong emphasis on communication and teamwork among players. It is due for an Alpha Lab soon. Here is everything we know so far about it.
2XKO Alpha Lab Playtest Details
The 2XKO Alpha Lab playtest starts on August 8, 2024 and will last until August 19 before it goes offline. So players have a short window to test it out.Keep in mind, the 2XKO Alpha Lab playtest is only available in the US, Canada, UK, France, Brazil, Japan, and Mexico. If you're not in one of these countries, you’ll have to skip this one.
Players on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC can join this playtest. If you sign up, you’ll get access to the PC version and a choice between PS5 and Xbox for the console version. However, once you pick between PS5 and Xbox, you're locked in and can't switch.
There are currently five confirmed playable champions for 2XKO. These champions have appeared in previous playtests at events like EVO 2023 and Combo Breaker, and they're included in the Alpha Lab build:
- Ahri
- Darius
- Ekko
- Illaoi
- Yasuo
Additionally, Riot has also confirmed that a new champion, yet to be revealed for this build, will be available in this playtest. Although they haven't disclosed the identity of this champion, fans are expecting it to be Jinx as a concept for Jinx was showcased when 2XKO was first introduced as Project L.
