Asobo Studio brought us another entry in the Plague Tale saga, and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is not short of puzzles that use light and reflections to move the story forward. One of the more interesting ones you'll come across while playing involves a large bull statue - which looks suspiciously like a certain famous bull from Greek mythology - which is blocking your way from progressing. You need it to stand up, but in order for that to happen you first need to connect hidden symbols with the signature thing of Plague Tale games, light.
Raising the bull's right hand
As they are making their way through the island, Sophia and Leni will face many puzzles, one of them being a puzzle that raises a giant bull in front of them, which they need to progress.
In this puzzle, you'll have three lenses that reflect light, as well as symbols you need to connect in order to progress. Behind each lens, there is a wall with symbols, and also if you look down at the ground, you'll see the same symbols, four of them being connected with blue lines, which means that you need to figure out which two symbols connect, and then shine the light with the lenses to the same symbols which will be located on the walls.
If you stand behind the lens in the middle and make a few steps to the right, you'll see your first symbol, which looks like a weird letter T. Follow the blue line from that symbol all the way to the lens on the left and you'll see the symbol it is connected to, this one looking like a weird umbrella.
After you know which symbols you need to connect, now is the time to point the lights towards the same symbols on the walls. Make your way to the lens which is right from the entrance, and move it so that the light falls onto the symbol you need, which is on the opposite wall.
When you complete that step, now make your way to the opposite lens, so the one to the left from the entrance, and move the light to the second symbol, which will be on the opposite wall. If you did it correctly, the bull will raise his right hand onto the platform.
Raising the bull's left hand
Now it's time to do the same thing for the second set of symbols. Right next to the bull's raised hand, you'll be able to see the third symbol you need, and like the previous time, now you follow the blue line until you find the fourth symbol you require to continue with the puzzle. On the opposite side of the room, you’ll find the second symbol, this one looking like a triangle.
When you locate both symbols, it's time to connect them like the previous two with light. You might think that the first symbol is not there, as you can’t find it on the walls, but if you look at Sophia’s notes, you’ll see that she has the positions of all the symbols written down in in her book, and that according to her notes, the symbol we need will be located on the wall behind the lens that is to the left from the entrance. So make your way to the lens which is on the opposite side - the right one - and shine the light on the spot of the symbol.
The second symbol, the weird triangle, is located on the wall right above it's spot on the platform, so they are almost aligned. Make your way to the lens that is on the left from the entrance, and move it so the light connects to the triangle symbol that is on the wall, and the bull will raise his left hand on the platform as well.
Raising the bull's head and torso
Now there is only one more step left, raising the bull's head and torso. In order to do that you need to use the sphere again to reveal the symbols which are hidden on the rings that the bull has on his hands. Sophia will write down both of the symbols, so you don’t need to keep going back to check, and her notes reveal that the two symbols you need to progress will be on the wall that is to the right of the bull, so close to the lens that is right from the entrance.
When you know what the symbols are, now it’s time to find them and connect them on the walls. The first thing you need to do, as one of the lenses is not working, is use the lens that is to the right of the entrance to bounce the light towards the one in the middle, because the right lens will not be able to reach the symbols. Once you do that, connect the lens to the middle with the empty spot where the symbol should be.
Afterwards, make your way to the lens that is to the left of the entrance, and connect the light to the other spot, and the head of the bull will raise up towards the platform. All you have to do now is use the sphere to continue your journey.
