  • Make sure your provinces are governed by your knights

Provinces will usually generate plenty of gold which is why expansion is so important but only governed provinces will bring a significant amount of gold to your kingdom. Click on the province then click on the circle by the province name and select a governor. 

  • Sign trade agreements with powerful kingdoms and send your merchants to trade

Merchants can bring in a ton of gold, especially if you choose the Trading skills for them. You can also expand the trade if you have enough commerce. Expanding trade serves as a multiplier for gold income, which is why it's one of the areas you should focus if you want a lot of gold.

  •  Make sure corruption is low and crown authority high

Having high corruption means less gold in your treasury. Make sure the merchant's opinion is always high by signing new trades and expanding existing ones, having good external relations and stability to keep corruption low. 

Crown authority can be increased by spending gold, gaining a vassal or executing rebels. It will dwindle if you lose wars, break pacts and so on.
