In Dragon’s Dogma 2, there are quite a few different kinds of currencies and experience systems to get accustomed to. Knowing how to collect each of these and how to use them effectively becomes a challenge to keep track of by itself.
So today we are here with this guide to show you how to collect one of the most important resources in the game, and that is the Wyrmslife Crystals, and how to use them effectively.
But before going into how to collect them, let us properly understand what Wyrmslife crystals are.
What are Wyrmslife Crystals, or WLC?
Similar to other forms of experience and currency in the game, WLC stands for Wyrmslife Crystal in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Given the game's focus on dragons, or drakes, as they're commonly known, these creatures offer valuable rewards when defeated. The term "Wyrmslife" refers to both dragons and drakes, hence the name Wyrmslife Crystal.
Encountering these crystals early in the game may be rare, as defeating drakes can be challenging without a well-prepared party. However, players will gain insight into their importance upon visiting The Dragonforged, situated in a small enclave along the Olta's Battahl Coastline.
How to collect Wyrmslife Crystals?
According to The Dragonforged, when you defeat a drake, their blood mixed with your essence forms the Wyrmslife Crystals. To collect as many as possible, you'll need to hunt down the numerous drakes scattered across Vernworth and Battahl and acquire their WLC.
Typically, each drake drops between 15 and 20 WLC. While this may suffice for a single purchase or upgrade (explained below), you'll likely need to vanquish at least two drakes to progress the story and access more valuable offerings from The Dragonforged.

How to use Wrymslife Crystals?
The Dragonforged, a former Arisen, offers a distinctive service utilising your Wyrmslife Crystals by enhancing your weapons and armour up to an additional fourth level, a capability exclusive to him. This enhancement differs from regular blacksmithing due to the utilisation of drake parts, resulting in unique effects.
While WLC can enhance the defensive capabilities of armour, it typically doesn't boost weapon damage. Instead, it primarily affects weight, significantly reducing the overall weight of the item.
Aside from smithing upgrades, The Dragonforged provides select items for purchase using Wyrmslife Crystals. Among these, the Portcrystal and Unmaking Arrow stand out as unique offerings available solely through him, unlike the more common Ferrystones he also supplies. Prioritising the acquisition of the Portcrystal is recommended, as they are scarce in the game.
Collecting WLC in Endgame
After spending countless hours navigating the perilous realms of Vernworth and Battahl and completing the main storyline, you'll unlock the option to enter the endgame phase.
Here, you'll find yourself in The Unmoored World, an apocalyptic version of the world you just saved, devoid of the Great Will.
Despite its bleak appearance with crimson skies and a looming doomsday countdown, this phase presents one of the best opportunities to gather rare resources before reaching the True Ending and embarking on New Game Plus.
If you look at your map, you'll notice red beacons scattered across the world near major cities and outposts. Activating these beacons summons Unmoored dragons, offering numerous chances to obtain 20 or more Wyrmslife Crystals from each dragon slain.
Alongside these new dragon variants, additional lesser dragons are dispersed throughout the world in entirely new locations. While exploring to find them may require some effort, the rewards, also amounting to 20 WLC each, make the endeavour worthwhile.
This concludes our guide on the Wyrmslife Crystals. Even though collecting them requires some effort, it is still worth your time, as these rare resources offer crucial updates to your inventory as well as
