ARC Raiders is a newly released extraction shooter from Embark Studios. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.
As you progress through the levels in ARC Raiders, you slowly unlock features like the Trials, which are in-game point-based weekly challenges that are refreshed every week. By earning three stars and points in these challenges, you can climb through the ranks to earn exclusive rewards.
Each week Embark adds a new set of challenges for players to complete and climb up their leaderboards. The Season 2 Week 5 trials are live now, and here's a comprehensive guide on how to earn 3 stars in this week's trials.
What are Trials in ARC Raiders?
Trials is the unofficial rank system in ARC Raiders, which is unlocked at player level 15. Once unlocked, players have to earn points by completing challenges every week and climb up the leaderboards. By earning stars, players can earn exclusive rewards.
The challenges are usually divided into three stages, which are marked by stars. By earning points you can get stars, and each challenge has a limit of 3 stars. For each star, players get a reward, with a total of three rewards for completing a challenge.
By earning points you can earn a position in the leaderboard of 100 players in the same rank. Getting into the top 20 of the leaderboard will earn you a 2x promotion to the next ranks. With 1x promotion allocated for the next 30 positions. The bottom 20 players of the leaderboard are demoted to the previous rank.
How to Get 3 Stars in Season 2 Week 5 Trials in ARC Raiders
Like every week, this week's trials have five challenges players must complete to climb up the leaderboard. These challenges are quite easy, but you have to follow some simple strategies to effectively finish them without wasting your important resources. Here's an in-depth guide on how to get 3 stars in Season 2 Week 5 trials in ARC Raiders:
Damage Queens or Matriarchs
This might be the hardest challenge for most players to complete this week. The best way to complete this challenge is using very strong armour penetration weapons like the Equalizer, Jupiter, Hullcracker, and Aphelion. Once you load into a Matriarch or Harvester mode, head to these large Arcs, then set up your camp at a safe distance with enough cover. After that, start dealing damage to their weak points near the core and their leg joints to stack up damage points. You only need to deal 4,000 damage to get three stars in this challenge.
Aside from that, you can also deal damage to them by getting up close and personal with deadline mines. Equip a snap hook and use 2-3 deadline mines and place them on the core of the Matriarch or Queen to deal a massive amount of damage in the shortest time possible. However, this strategy is very risky, as Rocketeers and other Arcs protecting these large Arcs will tear you to shreds if you are caught out in the open.
Search First Wave Husks
First-wave husks are usually found in all maps in ARC Raiders; however, there's an abundance of these husks in Dam Battlegrounds and the Spaceport.
The first map for finding first-wave husks is Dam Battlegrounds. There's an abundance of first-wave husks near the Red Lake and Old Battleground POIs of the map. Here are the locations of the husks in Dam Battlegrounds:
The second-best map for finding first-wave husks is the Spaceport. In Spaceport, you'll find Baron Husks and other first-wave husks near the outskirts of the map. Here are the locations of the husks in Spaceport:
Aside from these two maps, you can also find first-wave husks in the Broken Earth POI of Blue Gate. There's a Baron Husk in that location, which is accompanied by other smaller husks like Rocketeer and Wasp husks. Usually, with the Husk Graveyard map modifier, an increased number of first-wave husks spawn all around the map, which can make your search for first-wave husks easier.
Damage Flying ARC Enemies
The best strategy for getting 3 stars in this challenge is by playing the Locked Gate or Hidden Bunker game modes. Once you load into these game modes, head for the Rocketeers. Take four wolfpacks for taking out two Rocketeers, which instantly nets 3 stars for you. To gain additional points, keep taking out Hornets, Wasps, Snitches, and Spotters to gain additional points. You can also rely on Seeker Grenades to take them out quickly. The best weapons for flying Arcs are Renegade, Anvil, and Bettina.
Deal Damage To Shredders
Shredders are the fastest and most annoying Arc to deal with in ARC Raiders. They can instantly catch up to you in close-quarters situations. However, the fastest way to take out Shredders is using Seeker Grenades. Take around 12-15 seeker grenades, then head to Stella Montis. Once you encounter a Shredder, throw around 6-7 Seeker Grenades, and you will either kill them or they will be super weak, so you can finish them off. You can find Shredders patrolling the Cultural Archives, Lobby, Atrium, and Medical Research. Here are the locations of all Shredders in Stella Montis:
Getting 3 stars with decent points in trials will guarantee you a spot in the top 20 of the leaderboard. Remaining in the top 20 will also allow you to jump 2 ranks once the trials are refreshed for next week.
