Sony could host another PlayStation State of Play event right after the major Xbox Series X event, which is set for July. Apparently, State of Play would follow in early August 2020.
Microsoft's Inside Xbox event brought us a lot of new trailers and reveals but ultimately failed to start the hype train for team green's next-gen hardware. That's why Microsoft and many Xbox fans hope that the upcoming July event will turn the tide in their favour and if the rumours about the big, first and third-party AAA lineup is true, then this may truly be the case.
However, Sony's major event where they plan to show plenty of next-gen titles is in June, and it looks like the Japanese tech giant may have another response to Microsoft with their next State of Play, shortly after the Xbox's June event. This would mean double trouble for Xbox if the rumours are true.
As you can see in the tweet above, Venture Beat's Jeff Grubb claims that Sony plan another State of Play in early August 2020. He clarified that this event should be like the previous State of Play but with PS5 games while the June event is a hefty next-gen showcase.
Grubb previously leaked Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 Remake and Unreal Engine 5 reveals so he is a pretty reliable source. As you can see on his list, Grubb also teases some sort of reveal for June 2, 2020.
