Development on Totally Accurate Battle Simulator began way back in the ancient days of 2016. After lots of testing and some spoof side-games for good measure, the Swedish developers at Landfall Games have now entered it into Early Access.
Early April is a great time for fooling around, unless you find yourself a member of Landfall Games. In that case, it's the perfect time to unveil outlandish and lighthearted game projects. After Clustertruck and Totally Accurate Battlegrounds Simulator, the Sweedish developer team got back to work on their physics-based strategy title Totally Accurate Battle Simulator.
As can be easily discerned from the trailer above, the devs have their tongue so far cheekwards that it might as well pass for a second head. So far, TABS looks like a whole lot of physics-based hilarity.
According to the developers , there's about another year of work left to be done, and they would prefer to do it alongside players invested enough to grab the title while it's still in Early Access.
Looking at the features of the current build, it seems that most of the core systems like the campaign, several different factions and maps are already in place. The team hope to add unit and faction customisation, along with more factions, maps and campaigns of their own leading up to the full release.
Judging from what we've seen of Landfall's approach to physics-centric gameplay in their Totally Accurate Battlegrounds spin-off, the developers have a winning formula on their hands.
If you want to add your voice to the choir and don't mind having your first impression influenced by the game's almost done guise, then you can get it over on Steam for about the same amount of money you might otherwise have spent on bus-fare and a kebab.
Should you not feel incentivised enough , the developers said that the price should go up slightly once the launch proper gets going.
Might as well buy it now and not play until it's done - best of both worlds.
