Ironward are bringing the sequel to The Red Solstice from 2015 and it has received gameplay reveal trailer alongside the release date for the demo version via Steam.
Red Solstice is a game that was released in 2015 and it never really became a groundbreaking hit as newcomers were hard to come by thanks to the hardcore nature of the game. Those that did play it, however, have fond memories of challenges that seemed impossible as well as the satisfactory feeling of overcoming them.
The Red Solstice 2: Survivors is set to release at some point in 2020 but the exact date is not currently known. On the bright side, the date of an available free demo has been announced alongside the gameplay trailer shown below. It will be a part of the Steam Festival and the demo will run from June 16 to 21.
As for the gameplay itself, players will be able to try out the eight-player multiplayer along with several other features. There will be a total of five classes to choose from:
- Heavy Support
The game is a real-time tactics action strategy. It may sound like one adjective too many but it's probably best to describe it as it is. In case you need something to compare the genre to, think Commandos or Desperados but without much stealth, a lot more action and the possibility of controlling only one member of the squad while other players control the rest.
Hardware requirements listed on Steam are rather low so just about any machine in 2020 should be able to run it, in case you are thinking of giving Red Solstice 2 a go.
