According to a Swiss online retailer, The Last of Us Part 2 is scheduled to release on 28 February 2020. The latest listing confirms the earlier rumours that suggested February 2020 as the launch date for the game.
Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part 2 is coming soon but at the moment, we're yet to find out the official release date for the game. A couple of days ago, Naughty Dog confirmed that The Last of Us Part 2 will be featured in Sony's State of Play live stream, which is scheduled for Tuesday, 24 September 2019. This could be the place to finally reveal the release date for the game since Naughty Dog also have a big press conference on the same day.
There's is certainly something important they want to talk about and the release date is at the moment, the only bit of info that is kept under the wraps. And while we wait for the State of Play live stream, a Swiss retailer listed the game on their online store and in the product description, it's stated that The Last of Us Part 2 is releasing on 28 February 2020. Softridge also claim that they will have the game in stock one day earlier for those who pre-order it.
While this could be just a placeholder date, it's worth mentioning that some earlier rumours and reports suggested that The Last of Us Part 2 is indeed aiming for a February 2020 release date. Of course, take this with a grain of salt just like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info. That being said, this is the third rumour suggesting the same release window so it wouldn't be surprising if Naughty Dog officially confirm it tomorrow.
To make these rumours even more credible, earlier this year, Ellie’s voice actress Ashley Johnson hinted that the game is coming in February 2020. While Johnson didn't quite say the word "February" as she was interrupted by the interviewer, it certainly looked and sounded like she was about to say it.
