The Last of Us Part 2 has officially been rated M for Mature by the ESRB. The sequel will be Naughty Dog's first game to feature sexual content and nudity.
After last year's delay, which was disappointing to many fans of the series, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part 2 is now only a couple of months away from its release. As we get closer to the launch date, Naughty Dog and Sony are expected to share a fresh batch of details but until then, we have a rating from Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) that gives us a clearer picture at The Last of Us Part 2 gameplay and story.
It looks like the sequel will be a much darker and mature story. The game has been M for Mature/17+ by ESRB. You may think that this is nothing new since both The Last of Us and The Last of Us: Left Behind also received M rating, however, the additional description is what is different between the sequel and earlier titles.
The Last of Us Part 2 will be Naughty Dog's first game to feature sexual content and nudity but what exactly will this mean for the game's story, it is yet to be revealed. Whether this directly affects Ellie as Naughty Dog aim for the most realistic presentation in their history, it remains to be seen but it would not surprise us if the devs try to explore Ellie's nature even further.
Anyway, as you wait for The Last of Us Part 2, check out . It is safe to say that Naughty Dog's upcoming adventure is shaping up to be every bit the shocking, ambitious sequel we've been waiting for.
