Tencent's new project, Undawn, is described as an immersive free open-world survival game, developed by their AAA studio Lightspeed with the help of Quantum Studios.
The details about Undawn are pretty scarce at the moment. Tencent only decided to share a couple of screenshots and basic details about the game but it certainly looks like an exciting project, helmed by LightSpeed L.A, which is Tencent's newly-formed studio led by former Rockstar Games studio manager Steve Martin and alumni from both Rockstar as well as 2K Games, Insomniac and Sony.
The publisher describe Undawn as an immersive free open-world survival game with different factions, base building elements and PvP and PvE. That's about everything they've actually revealed about the game at this point. There are a couple of screenshots over on the official website and what appears to be a trailer, which we could not find on Undawn's official YouTube channel.
"With Undawn, we wanted to create a new type of action game that combines open-world freedom with RPG elements that would completely redefine the genre, regardless of platform," stated Rick Li, executive producer at developer Lightspeed & Quantum Studios.
Undawn release date and storefronts is yet to be announced but the website states that more info regarding that is "coming soon". We assume the game will be Epic Games Store exclusive on PC thanks to Epic Games Store and Tencent partnership.
