Team Ninja's action RPG Rise of the Ronin is a hotly anticipated title that many fans of challenging souls-likes are eagerly awaiting.
And while the game will certainly cater to those who prefer a formidable boss or two, there will be something for players who prefer a bit more casual experience.
Team Ninja confirmed in the most recent interview with Jeuxvideo.com that Rise of the Ronin will launch with three difficulty options, which is quite unusual for souls-like titles that traditionally have a locked difficulty.
The devs say that their games are not designed to be easy but for Rise of the Ronin, they wanted to try and make it more accessible to as many players as possible.
Rise of the Ronin's difficulty options include Narrative, Intermediate and Hard. As the name suggests, Narrative mode is for players who just want to experience the story without any serious combat. Intermediate is your standard medium difficulty that will provide some challenge while Hard is in line with Team Ninja's previous games like Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
This is certainly great news for everyone who was initially excited by this title but then put off by the fact that Rise of the Ronin is a challenging soul-like game.
Rise of the Ronin is officially launching on PlayStation 5 on March 22, 2023. Other platforms are yet to be announced.
