Strategy lovers rejoice - TaleWorlds Entertainment have finally set the date for when we get to take Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord out for a spin. As the new trailer states, the game will be hitting Early Access on Steam in March 2020.
Gamescom 2019 has officially kicked off and while the headlines have been dominated by more hype-friendly titles, TaleWorlds announced they'll be there in full capacity, showing off Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord in both the business and public areas.
"This means that anyone with a ticket can come along to one (or both!) of our booths to play the game for themselves. This is a completely new experience for us and we are sure there will be many unforeseen challenges that crop up, but, so far, our preparations have been going well and we are really excited to be able to show the game in (somewhat) its entirety", they wrote.
Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord fans who visited TaleWorlds' booth last year were treated to a much more limited teaser of what the full game is, where the dev limited them to 3 premade characters.
Anyone who's ever played the game knows that character creation is one of the first and most fun, dare I say intimate, experiences in the game, but TaleWorlds knew that and wanted players to dive right into Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord gameplay.
"This year, guests will be able to choose between the same 3 premade characters, but with a bit of a twist! This time around, we see the characters 10 years on in their adventures, putting players squarely in the mid-game of the campaign", they wrote.
This means that the emphasis in the Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord demo will be on large battles and sieges, which they detailed in one of their earlier dev updates .
In the public area, you can have a go at Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord's Captain mode, which is a team-based PvP mode that is one of many new multiplayer modes coming with the game.
TaleWorlds promised more updates, so we'll be keeping an eye out - until then, enjoy the trailer.
