Star Wars: Squadrons is a first-person dogfighting game coming October 2, 2020, to PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will support crossplay between all platforms and will have VR on PC and PS4.
EA have officially revealed the trailer for their next Star Wars game named Squadrons. As previously rumoured, it is a first-person dogfighting title with a singleplayer campaign but also a multiplayer component. The game is developed by EA Motive studio and at the moment, the plan is to release Squadrons for current-gen consoles and PC on October 2, 2020. Interestingly, on PC, the game will arrive at three storefronts - Steam, Origin and Epic Games Store.
Judging by the trailer, the game will feature a 5v5 multiplayer mode where Empire and Rebels will battle for victory on various locations. On top of this, players will get to take full control of various starfighter classes from both New Republic and Imperial fleets which include X-wing and TIE Fighter. Ship customisation is also included but EA did not detail this feature.
EA also confirmed that Squadrons will have full VR support on PC and PlayStation 4 and more importantly, cross-play between all platforms.
Full gameplay reveal of the game is scheduled for EA Play Live digital-only event, which goes live on June 18, 2020, 4 PM PDT / 1 AM CET.
