Sony have just announced a new limited edition design for their PlayStation lineup of products in the celebration of 30 years since the launch of the first PlayStation console. This limited edition comes in a light grey/grey colour scheme akin to the PS1 and will include the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation Portal and the DualSense controller products.
"The new limited edition designs pay homage to 30 wonderful years of gaming, a journey made possible by the passion and support of our fans and talented game developers. Reminiscent of the very first PlayStation console to launch on December 3, 1994, this limited edition offering utilizes the original PlayStation color design and integrates it into the latest line of PS5 hardware products," Sony said on their blog.
The special anniversary collection will be sold in highly limited supply starting on November 21. Sony say there will be only 12,300 units of the PlayStation 5 Pro console available for purchase. The pre-orders start on September 26.
And while the entire lineup certainly looks sweet, I'm really in love with the new DualSense controller. The good news is, this one will be sold separately from the console and it looks like Sony will have a nice stock so those who dig the design can get this without spending a fortune on the entire package.
Speaking about the package, the 30th-anniversary lineup will also have special new boxes, again, akin to the iconic PlayStation 1 box, which is a nice touch from Sony.
