It turns out SEGA's major announcement is not that huge after all. Quite the contrary, it's pretty tiny and it's called Sega Game Gear Micro. It is a new mini-console with a 1,15-inch screen and four different colours with different games lineup.
Last week, we found out that SEGA are have something big up in their pipeline. Some Japanese websites described the news as "revolutionary" which made many SEGA fans pretty excited for the future. However, fast forward to today and we have the official announcement of SEGA's new console - SEGA Game Gear Micro.
SEGA decided to honour the iconic console for its 60th anniversary with this new release. As you can see in the image above, it is a teeny tiny piece of hardware available in four different colours. The console runs on two AAA batteries but you can also use a USB connection.
Each colour has a different lineup of Game Gear games built-in. You get four games pre-installed and here is the list of games for each colour:
- Black: Sonic the Hedgehog, Puyo Puyo, Outrun, Royal Stone
- Blue: Sonic & Tales, Gunstar Heroes, Sylvan Tale, Baku Animal
- Yellow: Shining Force Gaiden, Shining Force Gaiden II, Shining Force Gaiden Final Conflict, Lou Nazopuyo Arles
- Red: Megami Tensei Gaiden Last Bible, Megami Tensei Gaiden Last Bible Special, The GG Shinobi, Columns
