Hi-Rez Studios have released a major update for Rogue Company which brought a new narrative event, balance changes and a new look for one of the originals.

Rogue Company has introduced numerous new characters over its lifetime and now it looks like the team is partially investing into reworking the older ones. Trench was there from the early days and his cheerful nature was one of the things that set him apart from other Rogues, who were often more narcissistic or cynical.

With the new default skin and voice lines, Trench appears to have appropriated some of those traits as he looks worse for wear but more formidable in general. The character is now missing a leg, which was replaced by a hich-tech prosthetic and the cheery tone is no more.

Without delving into the spoilers, players can now join the narrative event and discover what happened and how Trench's appearance and attitude went in such a different direction.

As far as the unlocks go, players don't need to worry about losing any. All of Trench's previous skins will be around if you want to take them, with the old default skin being available to everyone.

The wording in the official patch notes is a bit peculiar when it comes to the character's voice lines and it seems like he will retain the new ones even if you choose the old skins.

Gadgets are also getting significant cooldowns and there is a new LTM rotation, among other things, but the rugged new appearance for the Rogue Company leader is definitely the highlight.
