Teamfight Tactics was pretty much ripped off and copy-pasted in many aspects on mobile but Riot Games took action against the devs as the similarities were painfully obvious.

Popular games are often ripped off to a varying degree and frankly, not even League of Legends is completely clear of this sin. Countless DotA fans still fault the game for copying the Warcraft 3 mod from IceFrog and Guinsoo but then again, LoL created a ton of its own content and even the similarities between the games are not that striking. For example, Pudge and Blitzcrank can both hook enemies but their roles and even mechanics are still critically different.

The difference between Teamfight Tactics and I Am Hero: AFK Tactical Teamfight are not so easily discerned. Riot Games' autobattler has been on mobile devices for some time now and it received a weird type of competition later on - one that contains content that avoids being a literal copy-paste with just a handful of changed words.

In lawsuit documents Riot Games filed, the comparisons are pretty damning. The company brought up examples of Heimerdinger, Nautilus, Vi, Viktor, Zac and more where the knockoff game has "Dinger", "Tidus", "Vy", "Victor" and "Zak".

The similarities extend to the character likeness, not just the names and lore tabs for some are literally copy pasted, with just an occasional word being replaced.

Teemo, for example, has a bargain bin version of himself called Tomee. His title in LoL and TFT is "The Swift Scout" while Tomee is "The Hasty Scout".

If that were not damning enough, the lore tabs are even more obvious.

"Undeterred by even the most dangerous and threatening of obstacles, Teemo scouts the world with boundless enthusiasm and a cheerful spirit. A yordle with an unwavering sense of morality, he takes pride in following the Bandle Scout's Code, sometimes with such eagerness that he is unaware of the broader consequences of his actions. Though some say the existence of the Scouts is questionable, one thing is for certain: Teemo's conviction is nothing to be trifled with."

Meanwhile, Tomee is a goblin with a story that bears striking resemblance:

"Undeterred by even the most dangerous and threatening of obstacles, Teemo scouts the world with boundless enthusiasm and a cheerful spirit. A goblin with an unwavering sense of morality, he takes pride in following the Amethias' Code, sometimes with such eagerness that he is unaware of the broader consequences of his actions."

The evidence is pretty overwhelming but it remains to be seen if Riot will salvage anything from it in the end.
