Blizzard's Diablo reveal at BlizzCon 2018 was immortalised by a question that insulted the entire room and became a bona fide meme. Riot Games recently announced Teamfight Tactics for mobile devices and didn't miss out on an opportunity to call Blizz out.

Wyatt Cheng entered the video gaming history, not in a good way, when he asked Diablo fans "do you guys not have phones" after they openly showed they didn't like the Diablo Immortal announcement. That moment alone painted a perfect picture of Blizzard shot callers' faded touch with the wishes of their fans as apparently they weren't aware that announcing a mobile game to a room full of PC gamers would be met with disapproval.

Everyone and their grandmas proceeded to make fun of Blizzard over the next year, with the latest memers being Riot Games. During the League of Legends 10 year anniversary stream, they announced:

  • tactical shooter
  • Fighting game in LoL universe
  • Animated series in LoL universe
  • League of Legends for mobile and consoles
  • Pile of free cosmetics
  • LoL charity skin (100 per cent proceeds go to charity)
  • TCG named Legends of Runeterra
  • Esports Manager game
  • Possible MMO
  • ... and Teamfight Tactics for mobile devices

Needless to say, these announcements exceeded everyone's expectations, setting up a good tone for the last announcement on the list. The thing is, people actually did want a mobile version of Teamfight Tactics and Riot Games didn't miss the opportunity to rub it in Blizzard's face .

Blizzard picture showing a demon with diablo immortal title Diablo Immortal fiasco now seems like small fry compared to Blizzard's recent conduct

"Turns out, you guys do have phones" would probably burn Blizzard hard, had they not managed to entangle themselves in a mess of epic proportions through recent actions based on China and Hong Kong's conflict that make jabs like feel like drops in a miserable ocean.
